Online booking is available as well. We take most private insurance and have self pay options.  We talk to your pediatrician about every visit so that your care is continuous. Our clinic has a kid friendly environment and pediatric trained providers who provide kind and thoughtful care to your child.

In case you do need to wait for a few minutes your little Astronaut will have plenty to do.  In the simulation station they will encounter a life-sized light up peg board, a mission control activity wall, as well as a mission to Mars climbing pod. 

Our Team

Lubna Qazi Abdullah, MD, FAAP, Medical Director

Dr. Abdullah is a pediatrician who serves as the Medical Director for KIDS Urgent Care in Wheaton.  She was born in Chicago and hails from the Western Suburbs.  After graduating from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, she then completed a Master's Degree in Experimental and Molecular Pathology from the University of Southern California. She graduated from Drexel University Medical School in Philadelphia and went on to complete The Harriet Lane Pediatrics Residency Program at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. After completing her training, she remained on staff at Johns Hopkins as a part time hospitalist  and has been a hospitalist in Chicago for many years. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. 

Vanessa Santos, Practice Manager

Vanessa serves as Practice Manager for KIDS Urgent Care.  She was born in Chicago and attended Mother McAuley High School.  She obtained her degree in nursing at Bryant & Stratton College.  She also completed an internship in the emergency room at St. Joseph Hospital Ascension Medical Center Milwaukee. She has extensive outpatient and pediatric urgent care experience having worked at several facilities.  Those facilities include Northwestern Medical Group, Quantum Anesthesia and Pediatrics on Demand. Vanessa is married with 2 beautiful children. 

Sheela Jayaram, MD


Dr. Sheela Jayaram has been a pediatrician for 35 years.  She completed her Residency at Rush University. She has been a Wheaton resident for 30+ years.

Ambereen Alam, MD

 Dr. Ambereen Alam completed her residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.  She went on to do a fellowship in  infectious disease, and has also done fellowship work in critical care and Neonatology.  She has been a pediatrician for 13+yrs and has been board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. 

Kat Benson, DNP, CPNP-PC

Kat Benson graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Resurrection University in 2010.  After graduation, she worked as a Pediatric Nurse in a Chicago at a community hospital.  In addition, she has worked on mother baby units around the area. Kat then specialized in pediatric primary care and in 2016 graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University in Chicago.  She is a certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, specializing  in pediatric primary care.  Since then she has worked with a Medicaid clinic in addition to teaching pediatric clinical for Chamberlin College of Nursing. She spends her free time with her two small children and her husband. 

Najwa Saleh, MSN, FNP-BC

Najwa Saleh is an accomplished family nurse practitioner.  She has over 17 years of healthcare experience. Her experience ranges from office, school, hospital (Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago), and home-based care setting.  She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Purdue University in Calumet, Indiana and then earned her Master of Science degree at the Governors State University in University Park, Illinois.  She holds two national board certifications with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a family nurse practitioner and certified pediatric nurse. Najwa is an active member of several professional organizations including the Illinois Nurses Association and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. Her areas of interest include pediatric health, health promotion and improving access to healthcare in underserved populations.

Tara McMillan, FNP-C

Tara McMillan started her nursing career in 2001, graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL. She spent many years working in pediatrics at local community hospitals as well as Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital. In 2015, she graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing and is board certified as a family nurse practitioner. Since becoming a nurse practitioner, she has worked in urgent care and occupational health and has a special interest in pediatric health and minor injuries. In her free time, Tara enjoys crafting and spending time with her husband and son.  

Erica Brouette, Radiologic Technologist and Medical Assistant

Erica graduated from the Radiology program at Moraine Valley Community College in 2009. She completed clinical rotations at Palos Community Hospital, MacNeal Hospital, and Little Company of Mary Hospital. She has years of experience in outpatient Orthopedic and Pediatric offices. 

Nick Marra, RT (R)

Nick graduated from the Radiology program at Northwestern College in 2014.  After graduating was hired by a mobile x-ray company in which he worked for 2 years.  He then went on to work for Dupage Medical Group as a float x-ray tech. This means he would have to rotate between all of their many sites , which give him experience in orthopedic, urgent cares, and also primary care offices.
